Analyzing your individual branches
WEBENCH® Power Architect has created your power tree. You may now optimize each individual branch the same way you can using the Power Designer. The dashboard is the same with the slight modification of including your power tree on the left hand side to allow you to easily access each individual branch as an independent design for further refinement.
Using the Power Tree for selecting designs
Power Architect created power tree allows you to choose which supply you would like to evaluate, modify, or improve based on your overall project goals. Simply click on the block representation in the power tree for the supply you want to update/evaluate. Each supply will load and provide you with all of the WEBENCH enabled features for the IC in the design. You can also hover over the supply block and the details of that particular design will be displayed above the power tree in the upper left hand corner of the window. The supplies are named and color coded for ease of differentiation. At this point in your project, you are no longer allowed to update the IC used for the individual branches.
Evaluating your individual designs
Once you have selected a design, you can modify/evaluate the design using the same options and features that are available in the Power Designer for that particular IC. For help on the individual features, please use the following links:
